Lamb Distribution and Pot Luck Dinner on February 16, 2010
We closed the 2009 LAMB program on Feb 16th 2010 with a Pot Luck Dinner that was attended by approximately 75 Knights, their families and friends. We were also very pleased that sixteen organizations that support our Intellectually Challenged Citizens were present to receive donations from our 2009 LAMB collection efforts. The groups in attendance were ARC of Craven County, Brinson Elementary School, Craven Community College, Craven Country Special Olympics, Creekside Elementary School, Fred A. Anderson School, H.J. MacDonald Middle School, Jones County Special Olympics, Life Inc, Maysville Elementary School, New Bern High School, Pamlico County Middle School, Pamlico County Primary School, Pamlico County Special Olympics, RHA Howell Care Center, and West Craven High School. The LAMB Program was fortunate this year to collect sufficient funds to allow us to distribute over $14,500 to these very worthy groups to assist them in their good works. This dinner was the official kick off of the 2010 LAMB program that will be headed up by our Chancellor Clement Ned Jr. I encourage all Knights, their families and friends to, once again, support this very good cause and help us to do an even better job this coming year. Vivat Jesus, DGK Leo Minervini

Special Olympics Spaghetti Dinner, October 16, 2008

For the 13th year, the Knights of Columbus hosted the Special Olympics Spaghetti Dinner for over 400 people. Some that assisted in serving were front row: Squire Peter Driscoll, Patrick Driscoll and Tanner Jackson. Middle row: Squires Xavier and Tyler Thompson. Back row: Grand Knight Mikie Casem, Deputy Grand Knight Richard Tomasik, Craven County County Recreation and Park Director Mark Seymour and Sir Knight Kevin Blust. It is especially rewarding to see the young male members of the KC Squires following in the footsteps of the Knights by contributing time to the community. The Knights were able to present a check for $1956 to the Craven County Special Olympics Program.

The Knights of Columbus recently held their semi-annual LAMB ("Least Among My Brethren") Collection. Council 3303 started this over 30 years ago. By contributing over 600 volunteer hours each spring and each fall, they have raised over $300,000. Of this, 85% stays in Craven County to help various organizations that assist mentally challenged children. Thanks to Harris Teeter, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, and Piggly Wiggly for allowing the Knights to conduct this program at their stores. Pictured with their Tootsie Rolls and collection cans are from left to right front row KC Squire Patrick Murphy, Sir Knight Ronald Dominach, Squire Tanner Jackson. Back row: Squire Shane Murphy and Chief Counselor "Packy" Murphy.
